Make sure that you have been properly trained by your nurse, pharmacist or docter before you mix the drug (add the diluent liquid to the dry Neotropin powder) or inject it.Wash your hands and be careful to folow the instructions given to you by your nurse, pharmacist or doctor.After mixing throw away the syringe in a puncture resistant container.Neotropin must be kept refrigerated after it is mixed. Do not freeze.Once Neotropin has been mixed and is in liquid form it must be used within 28 days.The following injection sites may be used:Abdomen (above, below or on either side of the navel).Front of upper thighs,Upper, outer buttocks,Back of arms, above the elbow and below the shoulder.Neotropin is not for children and teenagers whose bones have finished growing, patients who have certain types of eye diseases caused by diabetes, patients who have active cancer or any brain tumors, patients who are critically ill after open heart surgery or abdominal surgery, are severly hurt or have severe breathing problems, children and teenagers who have Prader-Willie syndrome and are very overweight or have trouble breathing.If you are about to start taking Neotropin be sure to tell the doctor that is prescribing it about all the medication you are currently taking, including supplements, if you have or develop a brain tumor, if you are given any new medication, especially cortisone, hydrocortisone, prednisone or betamethasone, if you are pregnant and about any other condition or illness you have.Contact your doctor immediatly if you experience ongoing injection site discomfort, scoliosis, joint pain, puffy hands or feet, changes in vision, hip or knee pain, pain in the wrist or any allergic reaction.Your doctor is your primary source of information about your treatment.
